About Roger

I am a health and wellbeing coach based online and in east London and have been helping people make life better for the past 14 years.

I work as a health coach at GP surgeries in east London and as a personal trainer, and am training in cognitive behavioral therapy for a NHS role.

I grew up in by the sea in Sussex, and studied Government and Sociology at the University of Essex. I worked as a customs officer at oil refineries on the Thames and as a local and national newspaper journalist.

In life, I have known highs and challenging lows, but have always maintained positivity, practicality, and bloody-mindedness.

In my 40s, I quit journalism because I wanted to do a job that did more good to me and to other people. I was cross and heavy. Since then, I have got healthier, enjoyed challenging myself, and become a more-present family man.

I am a father, husband and dog owner, and am a decent hiker, a mid-pack runner and a back-of-the-pack cyclist.

I competed the London Marathon in 2023, raising money for the National Autistic Society; the Ultra Challenge London to Brighton 100km walk twice and, in 2022, the 100-mile Tour of Cambridgeshire cycling sportive.

Qualifications include:

I also hold qualifications in CBT awareness; disordered eating; stop smoking advice; cardiovascular disease awareness; and emotional wellbeing and diabetes.
